Jan 17, 2025
Proper posture when using an office chair is very important to prevent physical discomfort and long-term health problems. Here are some key points to help you maintain a correct sitting posture:
1. Seat height adjustment:
- Adjust the seat height so that your feet can be flat on the ground and your knees are roughly at a 90-degree angle to the ground.
2. Seat depth:
- Sit your buttocks into the deepest part of the seat cushion and adjust the seat depth appropriately to ensure that your thighs are fully supported.
3. Armrest height:
- Adjust the armrest height so that your arms are parallel to your elbows and your arms hang naturally.
4. Back support:
- Lean your entire back against the back cushion, keep your back straight, and avoid hunching over.
5. Lumbar support:
- Adjust the height of the waist to the position of the third, fourth, and fifth lumbar vertebrae to provide proper lumbar support.
6. Headrest height:
- If the office chair is equipped with a headrest, adjust its height to the third to seventh cervical vertebrae to support the neck.
7. Back cushion back elasticity:
- After the back is relaxed, adjust the back elasticity appropriately to ensure that the back is well supported.
8. Eye distance:
- Keep a certain distance between the eyes and the computer to prevent vision loss and eye fatigue.
9. Sit upright:
- When working, keep your back straight and avoid bending over for a long time to reduce the risk of lumbar muscle strain.
10. Seat height and knee position:
- The highest point of the seat should be located slightly below the kneecap and adjusted according to personal height.
Correct sitting posture involves not only adjusting the office chair, but also standing up and moving around regularly to avoid staying in the same posture for a long time. These practices help reduce muscle tension and improve work efficiency.
